Welcome to Plain Mode! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Plain Mode App ("App"), which helps users manage their screen time by blocking access to certain apps. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. General Information

  • Plain Mode App is a tool designed to help users reduce screen time by blocking access to apps based on their preferences.

  • The App does not store user data beyond session duration and only uses Apple’s Screen Time API to function.

  • Plain Mode is not responsible for unintended consequences of app blocking, such as missed notifications or work-related issues.
     

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use this App.

  • If you are under 18, you must have parental or legal guardian consent to use the App.

  • By using the App, you confirm that you are legally able to enter into this agreement.
     

3. App Functionality & Limitations

  • The App allows users to block or restrict access to apps for designated time periods.

  • Blocking is done through Apple’s Screen Time API, which requires user permission.

  • The App does not provide absolute app blocking; users may bypass restrictions via iOS settings.
     

4. User Responsibilities

By using Plain Mode, you agree to:

  • Grant the necessary permissions to allow app-blocking functionality.

  • Use the App responsibly and not for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.

  • Acknowledge limitations, including the possibility of apps not being fully blocked due to system-level restrictions.

You are responsible for managing your own settings, and Plain Mode is not liable for failure to enforce screen time restrictions due to user actions or iOS limitations.
 

5. Privacy & Data Handling

  • The App does not collect, store, or share any personal data.

  • Screen time data is only processed temporarily and discarded after use.

6. Subscriptions & Payments (If Applicable)

  • If Plain Mode offers premium features, subscriptions will be billed through Apple’s App Store.

  • Any payments, cancellations, or refunds must comply with Apple’s App Store policies.

  • You may cancel a subscription via Apple ID settings.

    Refund Policy

  • All purchases and subscriptions for Plain Mode App are processed through Apple’s App Store.

  • We do not handle payments or refunds directly.

  • If you want a refund, you must request it through Apple via Apple's Refund Page.

  • Refunds are granted at Apple’s discretion, according to their policies.

  • We do not have the ability to issue or approve refunds directly.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

  • The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without any express or implied warranties.

  • We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific needs.

  • We are not responsible for any damages caused by the use or inability to use the App.
     

8. Limitation of Liability

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plain Mode is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from App use.

  • This includes but is not limited to: lost productivity, missed notifications, app malfunctions, or any personal/business disruptions.
     

9. Changes to These Terms

  • We may update these Terms at any time.

  • If we make significant changes, we will notify users via an in-app message or update the "Effective Date."

  • Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
     

10. Termination of Use

  • We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms.

  • You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device.
     

11. Governing Law & Disputes

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict of law principles.

  • Any disputes shall be resolved in the Norwegian courts, unless otherwise required by applicable laws.
